Festival Tours

Trips built around Bhutan's Tshechu festivals, with masked dance, ceremony, and the whole valley dressed in its best kira and gho.

The trip

About this trip

A Tshechu is not a show put on for visitors. It is a religious festival that a whole valley shares together. We plan our festival trips so you take part as a guest, not just watch as an audience.

We check each year's exact dates against the Bhutanese lunar calendar before planning, and add quieter valley days either side of the festival.

Highlights

  • Masked cham dances in a dzong courtyard
  • Early arrival for a good spot with your guide
  • A briefing on festival manners and meaning
  • Quiet valley days before and after the festival
